k is for.....

katie was actually the first thing that came to mind, she is my very good friend, we get along well, and have a lot of fun together, and i LOVE her little boy! she has her own blog though, so if you are interested to learn more about her click here. :)

the other "k" i was thinking about were my keys, i have two SETS. not two keys, but two ENTIRELY different key chains, which i take everywhere "just in case". dumb. that will be the death of me. just in case. i will NEVER be rid of ANYTHING, just in case. that is not the point of my blog.

on my main set of keys, (which keychain i got from my dad a LONG time ago, it is a gold goofy(disney) that he bought on some business trip,)
i have my regular: two car keys (one for each car [quick little bit about one of those keys which is SUPER handy: you can insert my husband's car key into the ignition, start it and pull it out. so in the winter, you can pocket the keys after that, with the car still running, lock the doors, take your window scraper, and defrost while you scrape, without the worry of someone stealing your car. mind you, they might still smash the window and steal your car, if you happen to be on the opposite side or something, but without the keys, if they shut it off, they aren't going any further. i don't know, it somehow gives me peace of mind])
,three apartment keys, (one for the mail,
one (which we NEVER use or have used) to get into the pool/recreation center by the office,
and one to get into my apartment [another side note: a while back, we suddenly couldn’t lock our apartment one day. we were leaving and i tried to turn the deadbolt with my key, and it wouldn’t budge. so my husband muscled it locked, and we left for walmart with a plan to buy some graphite, to slick up the lock, and a new deadbolt incase that didn’t work {our apt complex is EXTREMELY slow on fixing things, so we do them ourselves and don’t bother them, otherwise NOTHING would get done}. when we got home, it didn’t really work, so my husband muscled the key to UNLOCK it and messed around with the graphite till it stopped sticking, we never used the new deadbolt lock we bought]),
a key to the salon where i work,
and a key to katie's apartment. the last one USED to be on my other set, but i apparently use it THAT much, that it goes on my main set!

on my other set, (which i realized has more of those little bar-coded plastic things you beep before each purchase at every store in the universe than keys)
i have katie's car key, (mind you it only unlocks doors, cuz to drive her car, you need the fancy key)
and a key to my parent's house (because they decided to lock the "always open" window),
one to my cousin's apt, (we watched their cat over christmas break)
and three other keys.
this is embarrassing, because, i'm not sure what they are for. oops. i'm PRETTY sure one, (possibly two) go to my husband's parents house, and the third, POSSIBLY USED TO, until they switched a lock.?
also on this keychain (this even starts with a "k" as well) is a KNIFE. its a little like, switchblade dagger thing. its pretty scary looking, (except that its REALLY small) with a jagged little blade and all. my dad gave it to me a long time ago sort of for self defense, which luckily (knock on wood) so far i've not had to use it for. he told me that IF i DID try to use it, TRY wouldn’t be enough. if i found it necessary to pull on someone, i better do the job thoroughly. YIKES! mostly it cuts off tags if i buy new shoes or something, or stray strings on my clothing, or opens packages...
i also have a flashlight shaped like a carabineer (sp?) on this set of keys, its sort of irrelevant, and doesn’t even start with a "k", but oh well... :)
so there you have it ladies and gentlemen: my keys.
