M is for......

muerto motherboard! and more macs?

well... in the previous post i mentioned that we brought our other computer in to "the shop". they told us it'd be approximately a week before they could look at it, thus the purchase of this fine contraption i now type on.
so yesterday, my husband got a phone call from "the shop", who told him that the power supply of the computer died, and when it went it took the motherboard with it. boo.
so i get this text, whilst i am blowdrying this woman's hair that says, "what do we do? the power source died killing the motherboard with it. its a complete loss." that is it. so i panic, and i call my husband, and he explains that this "shop" rebuilds computers, and custom-builds them as well, they have a lifetime warranty on all parts, meaning that if they replaced our motherboard and it died again, they would replace it for free.
you have to understand that the place we bought our computer from originally was also a custom-building computer shop, and they had lifetime warranties as well, but they went out of business, leaving us "shop"less and the rival company announced publicly (like on tv) that they would honor the lifetime-service-for-free warranty on all computers made in their rival "shop", so natrually that's where we took ours to get fixed.
the problem is that to pay them to give us a new motherboard it would cost nearly as much as a new computer, and since my husband is recently converting to mac, we thought we'd rather just buy a new mac.

problem: $

so.... we are now seriously contemplating getting this little new arrival a twin. that way, we have the same memory, the same mobility (since the toad would have to go to school w/his).

however, we have to wait for that promised "everyone gets a huge refund" refund from the government...

well... more on this later i guess.

So happy for the new arrival, so happy for the future new arrival and so very sorry about the recent death of the first-born. . .

Glad we are talking about computers and not children. . .
