7

my sister wrote a blog about 7 quirks/things about me(i could do more than 7, lets be honest, i'm pretty quirky)... here are mine:

1. i talk to random strangers everyday (except sunday), for a minimum of 15 minutes each.

2. i collect colors. if i find something i like, (usually it is in the scrapbook or school-supply section of a store)i feel the need to get AT LEAST TWO of EVERY COLOR. this rule also applies with clothing, so even though i'm wearing something new each day, i look the same ALL THE TIME.

3. like my sister and mom (they said it first, i'm not pointing fingers) i have NO decorating ability/taste. my sister said our cousin asked her of her husband, "what does [he] think of the way you decorate?" she said (and i concur)"decorate??" unfortunately for me, my husband doesn't even feel the need for pictures on the wall... now our electronics (surround sound, etc.) that's a whole other story :)

4. i CANT tell time on a clock. EVERY TIME i try, but i have to say, "ok, the little hand, lets see.. oh, there it is, ok, its pointing between... um... 1, 2, 3, 4,.. ok the 4 and the 5... and the other one... well, its kind of close to the top, so if the top one is what,? 12? 12, 11, 10.. where was the little hand again? wait, if its between the 4, and the 5, is it 5? or 4? oh, the longer one moved! now its over on the other side(see #5), sort of by the 1...and did i decide it was 4 or 5?" you get the idea. i bought an analog watch once (yes ONCE) and i was determined to learn. i had an aerobics class w/my sister, and i was walking down the hall and saw her walking away from our class, "where are you going? class is about to start" "um, class is OVER, you missed it!" i looked at my watch, and asked her what time it said. she read it to me, i was an ENTIRE HOUR BEHIND!!! that was the day i gave up. forget that!

5. "left" and "right" don't work so well for my husband and i, its "my way"(which is right) and "your way"(left). even when I'M driving, i say, "it'll be on my side" and i mean the right hand side, even though we both know i'm on the left at present, we both know i mean right... duh

6. i have organizational issues. nothing has a home. that's not true, things DO have homes in my house, but not "conventional" homes. for example. everything from shoes to my purse to the garbage that is full, to the groceries (not perishable, canned goods)we bought last week.... these things all "go" by the front door. if they get in the way of opening the door, or putting something else by the door, push them aside. they SHOULDN'T go there, i just don't have any better ideas of where to put them (what's a pantry?)

7. i wear fake toenails in the summer (let's be honest, its as much as i can get away w/it... like until it snows more that 6 inches...) i don't have a pinkie toenail, well i do, but it comes out of my toe, and goes straight up. its really weird and mostly looks like a backwards knuckle. i used to spread it out, drop polish in the little crack, and squish it together and wipe off the excess, now i glue on fake ones, they look SO much better (to me, and from a distance) if they pop off, i have some glue and a replacement in my purse, no problem. but its really funny to find toenails in my car/house/salon, etc. :)

Pixie!
You are a delight! What a cute sense of humor you have. Life is too short to not find humor, and you seem to find it everywhere.
I love your sunshine personality. Even if you do think you take life too seriously (hiding under the coffee table when something stresses you), you see the humor, and that is what makes some of the less-happy things seem lighter.

Hi Pixie,
What a cute post. You make me smile! And not 'at' you but with you. I love the the way that you accept your individuality! You are one I could go to Mars with.

haha that is funny you can't tell time. and i was super confused that day when you were on your way to class... and i also wondered where you were. it was before the days when everyone had cell phones so i couldn't really call you or text you. anyway, love your 7 and love your guts.
